The two most common questions we get on first calls from new Wayne County clients are 'how much does it cost?' and 'do I need a deep clean or a basic clean?' The first depends on your home — see our house cleaning cost guide for that. The second one we can usually answer in about thirty seconds, but it's worth knowing the difference so you can choose with confidence.
What's in a basic clean
A basic clean is surface maintenance — the work that keeps a home in its current condition. It typically takes two to three hours for a standard three-bedroom home in Wayne County. It's designed for homes that are already at a baseline standard and need to stay there.
What's included
- All visible dusting (countertops, shelves, electronics, furniture surfaces)
- Vacuuming carpet, area rugs, upholstery edges
- Mopping hardwood, tile, LVP
- Kitchen surface clean (counters, sink, stovetop, appliance fronts)
- Bathroom clean (toilets, sinks, mirrors, showers, floors)
- Trash removal
- Bed-making and light tidy-up
Pricing
Basic cleans start at $150 for most homes. Larger or particularly busy households are quoted higher. Recurring clients lock in their basic price so it doesn't change between visits.
What's in a deep clean
A deep clean is restoration — the work that resets a home to a higher standard than it's currently at. We do everything a basic clean covers, plus a long list of details: baseboards, door frames, light switches, light fixtures, ceiling fan blades, inside the oven, inside the refrigerator, behind major appliances where accessible, grout in tile bathrooms, vents, window sills and tracks, and the corners most regular cleanings skip.
What's included
- Everything in a basic clean
- Baseboards and door frames hand-wiped
- Light fixtures and ceiling fans dusted
- Inside of oven and refrigerator
- Window sills, tracks, and trim
- Grout scrubbed in bathrooms
- HVAC vents wiped down (interior, where reachable)
- Switch plates and door handles disinfected
- Behind smaller appliances on counters (toaster, coffee maker, etc.)
Pricing
Deep cleans start at $300 and are priced by square footage. The final number also reflects current condition. We give a firm price after a quick consultation — no surprise charges at the end.
How to decide
- If you've never had a professional clean before, start with a deep clean. Resetting to a high baseline makes future visits faster and cheaper.
- If it's been more than three months since your last deep clean, do another one. Pollen and humidity build up faster in Eastern NC than most people expect.
- If you're moving in or out, choose our move-in / move-out service (from $350). It's essentially a deep clean with extra attention to empty cabinets and appliances.
- If you're already on a recurring schedule with us, you almost always want a basic.
- If you're hosting an event or family visit, a deep clean two days before is the highest-impact prep.
Frequently asked questions
How much does a deep clean cost in Wayne County, NC?
Deep cleans at Simply Polished Co. start at $300 and are priced by square footage. The final number also reflects number of bathrooms and current condition. We quote firm prices up front — no surprises.
How long does each service take?
A basic clean averages 2–3 hours for a standard home. A deep clean averages 5–7 hours. Larger homes or particularly heavy first-cleans can run longer; we'll tell you in advance.
Can I switch between basic and deep cleans?
Yes. Many of our Wayne County clients book a yearly or biannual deep clean and basic cleans in between. Just let us know which one you want when you book — or we'll suggest the right one based on what we see.
Do you offer recurring discounts?
Yes. Recurring clients (weekly, biweekly, monthly) get a locked-in rate that's lower than one-off pricing. Ask us about it on your first call.
What's NOT included in either service?
We don't do exterior work, mold remediation, hoarder cleanups, or carpet shampooing (we partner with a local specialist for that — happy to refer). Anything outside our standard scope, we'll tell you on the call.
